Undergraduate Housing
The rates listed below are for the 2026-2027 academic year and have been approved by the Board of Regents of the University of Michigan.
- All prices are per occupant.
- Meal plans (board) are required in all undergraduate residences. Learn more about residential meal plans on Michigan Dining website.
- Board rate listed reflects the Basic Unlimited plan. Please account for $175 extra per term if upgrading to the Unlimited Plus 200, or $275 per term if upgrading to the Unlimited Plus 300.
- Additional fees of $75 (Residential Computing) and $24.75 (Residence Hall Association) are billed separately for undergraduate residents.

Housing Contract Rates
Housing contracts are for two semesters. The contracted rate is shown in the “Total- ROOM AND BOARD” column for each respective room type
Rate Basics
A number of room characteristics influence the rate being charged, such as room size, number of rooms, private bathrooms. Any of these elements may affect the room rate.
- Premium – Highest Rate
- Enhanced – Second highest rate
- Standard – Majority of room rates
- Economy – Lowest rate
- Modified – ADA accommodations rate

Rates for Unique Residences
This page includes rates for all undergraduate residences, which consists primarily of residence halls. For our unique undergraduate residences (Henderson House, Martha Cook and Northwood Apartments), rates vary as they include different room types and distinct meal plans; the rates for these unique residences are located below the residence hall rates.

Suites (Residence Halls)
A suite consists of multiple bedrooms behind a door leading to a residence hall corridor. Bedrooms can house one to four occupants. Room sizes (single, double, etc.) listed refer to the number of occupants sharing a bedroom. The number of occupants sharing a suite can vary by residence hall. All prices are per occupant.

Northwood Apartments Undergraduate Rate
Northwood apartments are offered to undergraduates in very specific circumstances. Northwood Apartments do not require a meal plan, although residents are welcome to select a meal plan should they wish to eat in Michigan Dining. All prices are per occupant.

We’re excited to welcome you to campus! Winter move-in for new undergraduate residents begins on Jan 10, 2027 at 12pm. You may move in later in the week as well. The dining halls will be open for dinner that evening.
Please follow the following instructions to make your move-in as smooth as possible.
Before You Arrive
Move-In Day
- Navigation apps (like Waze) can assist you in navigating to Ann Arbor.
- Photo ID is required for check-in.
- Mcards are needed for access to the Residence hall. If you have not yet received your Mcard, it will be available at move-in. Be sure to submit your picture.
- During move-in the external doors to the hall will be open.
- Check-in at your buildings Community Center to receive your key and directions to your room.
- Moving carts are available for your use.
- If you are unexpectedly delayed and arrive late, follow the posted signs.
- Street parking is available by all buildings. Please follow all parking regulations (e.g., meters, handicap parking, other signs regulating parking)
After You Move In
Be sure to complete your Room Inventory Form (RCI). If your room requires any repairs, report them using the online FIXIT form. Forms should be returned to the community center within 48 hours of your move-in. Residents are responsible for the condition of the space upon move-out so this form is an important one to complete. Visit the MHousing policies page for further information about what to expect regarding the condition of your living space at move-out.
