Undergraduate Housing
The rates listed below are for planning purposes only and reflect rates for the 2022-2023 academic year. Final rates for the coming 2023-2024 academic year are approved by the Board of Regents of the University of Michigan in June, and will be updated here on or about Saturday, June 17, 2023.
- Room and board rates include both the cost of the room and meal plan.
- Undergraduate Housing includes an additional fee of $75 fee for Residential Computing Activation
All residence hall contracts are legally binding. See Terms and Conditions for information on contract termination.
Board rate assumes the Basic Unlimited plan. Please account for $175 extra per term if upgrading to the Unlimited Plus 200, or $275 per term if upgrading to the Unlimited Plus 300.

Rate Types
Rate types group rooms together that have the same price point
A “double” room means a room with two occupants, a “triple” means three occupants, etc.
A number of room characteristics influence the rate being charged, such as room size, number of rooms, private bathrooms. Any of these elements may increase the price point.
Singles, doubles, triples, quads, and suites can come in different styles:
- Premium - Highest Rate
- Enhanced - Second highest rate
- Standard - Majority of room rates
- Economy - Lowest rate
Rate Codes explained
Sgl = Single
Dbl = Double
Tpl = Triple
Quad = Quad
Suite = Suite (A suite consists of multiple bedrooms behind a door leading to a residence hall corridor)
