Living Business

The Living Business Theme Community (or LBC) offers Ross School of Business first-year students a residential community that champions the goals and values of Ross. Living Business aims to create a strong cohort of Ross advocates that represent diverse backgrounds and interests, and who are highly engaged within the Ross community.

BENEFITS

Residing in the LBC is a transformative opportunity for first-year students to connect with their cohort in a non-academic setting, while taking advantage of co-curricular activities that further their familiarity and involvement with Ross.

Led by our four LBC Values – authenticity, respect, connection, and growth – residents will gain an enhanced academic experience, a supportive community, and professional skill development.  By engaging in on-campus developmental programming and off-campus experiential learning, Living Business residents will both live and grow in the LBC.

PROGRAMMING

Residents in the Living Business community have access to programming and a network that encourages meaningful introspection about Ross’s mission to “build a better world through business.”

WHAT THE RESIDENTS SAY ABOUT LIVING BUSINESS

“I applied to LBC… and honestly I didn’t expect much. I worried that Ross’s competitive atmosphere would make it hard to truly connect with people. However, I couldn’t have been more wrong. The friends I made in LBC became the closest I have at UMich. Living on the same floor made all the difference…They are hands down the best people I’ve met here, and I genuinely cannot imagine my freshman year without them.” – Sasha

“The Living Business Theme Community has given me a community of like-minded students to rely on both personally and professionally. From late night mock interviews to playing [games] in the lounge, LBC has given me the opportunity to extend my network from just the classroom to my living space… Further, my main friend group is in LBC so I’ve really enjoyed coming home to a group of fellow students in Ross that can relate to all the experiences an undergrad BBA has at Ross.”  – Veer

“The people in LBC became my comfort system after a hard day, and the first ones I wanted to share good news with after a great one. They genuinely want to see you succeed and actively support you in getting there. I never felt the need to compare myself to anyone in LBC because we were all committed to helping each other, whether that meant staying up late to work through Ross-related challenges or just talking about life and anything in between.” – Anastasia
