Congratulations for choosing University Housing and Martha Cook Building (known as MCB) as your home while attending the University of Michigan! This handbook will provide you with an introduction to the benefits, responsibilities, and expectations of Martha Cook resident “Cookies”. The Martha Cook Building was opened in 1915 to serve as a home for women attending the University of Michigan. It has been described as one of the most beautiful college residences in the United States. For over 100 years, Martha Cook has provided a place where lifelong friendships are made, traditions are passed on, and community is cherished.
