ELECTION PROCESS

The election process is simple and democratic, taking place over 2 house meeting periods. At the first meeting, residents may nominate themselves or be nominated by others and accept the nomination. At the beginning of the second meeting, all nominees give a brief description of their intentions should they be elected, and residents may ask them questions before the vote. The RD and President preside over elections and do not vote. Voting will be done through a secret ballot; each resident will be given a ballot to select their indicated nominee and they’ll be turned into the President once the voting period is over. All votes will be counted and later that night the results will be given. In case of a tie, the RD will make the final decision. One must attend the house meeting for their vote to be counted unless there is an excusable reason for missing the meeting.
