Henderson House is a unique cooperative community that houses 28 undergraduate and graduate women. Sophomores through graduate students are welcome to apply. Henderson House is led by a graduate student Resident Director and professional staff. Henderson House is a small, close-knit community where you’ll share household responsibilities like cooking and cleaning. It’s in a residential area of Ann Arbor and is in walking distance from Central Campus. The Henderson House was purchased by the University’s Alumnae Council in 1945 and developed for undergraduate women students. It was named after Mary Bartron Henderson who successfully campaigned for the construction of the Michigan League which was originally the Union building for women.
