Betsy Barbour is a women’s residence hall in the heart of Central Campus near the Michigan Union, Angell Hall, The University of Michigan Museum of Art and the shopping area on State Street. Betsy Barbour is a smaller community, around 120 women, and shares its facilities, Residential Staff and community spaces with the Helen Newberry Residence Hall.
At Betsy Barbour you’ll have a community of Residential Staff who are trained and ready to help you succeed in your new home. Your Resident Advisor will be there to help build community, lead activities and answer questions. Learn more about Residential Staff and services.
Each residence hall has a student governing system including a Hall Council, a Multicultural Council, and representatives on the Residence Hall Association. Talk to your RA if you are interested in participating.
