Housing for Graduate Students & Students with Families

Northwood Community Apartments and Townhouses

Northwood is a vibrant apartment community, housing hundreds of families and graduate students on the University of Michigan's North Campus. Our residents represent more than 80 nations and create a rich tapestry of international lifestyles, customs and cultures.

Comprised of 21 buildings in five beautiful and interconnected areas, Northwood is owned and operated by the University and includes nearly 1100 apartments.  All residents are invited to participate in Northwood's many programs and services. See our maps for an overview of each Northwood Community.

Currently, University Housing is offering housing to single graduate students, students with families, and postdoctoral research fellows with families.  Faculty, staff and other non-students with a University of Michigan affiliation are not eligible for University Housing and should seek off-campus housing options.  If you are a law school graduate student, please explore the Lawyers Club.
