Michigan Housing is offering a limited number of room accommodations to students with a current Michigan Housing contract who are not able to travel between the end of the fall 2022 term and the start of the winter 2023 semester.
The undergraduate residence halls will close on December 19, 2022 and reopen on January 2, 2023. (Residents of Northwood and Munger may stay in their current space during this break time.)
A limited number of rooms are available during this time in Thieme House in Baits II residence hall. You can expect to have a roommate during this time. A charge of $34 per night will be billed to your student account in January.
The community kitchen will be available for your use so plan to provide your own eating and cooking utensils.

- Kitchen supplies (cups, plates, silverware and cookware)
- Clothing, books, technology – anything that you will need during the break.
Laundry is available. Your Mcard will provide you access. Fees are the same as at your residence hall.

The University is not able to provide transportation to/from term break housing. As a reminder, you can leave your belongings in your residence hall room if you are returning for winter term.
University and Ann Arbor public buses have limited schedules during Winter Break. Please consult their respective websites for details.
Services during the break
An RA will be available to assist you during this time. In the event of an emergency, please call 911. To reach security for non-emergencies please call 734-763-1131.
To place a request, complete the Term Break Housing Webform. The deadline to register is November 27, 2022. You will be notified of the status of your request by December 1, 2022 and will receive more specific information at that time.
