New and returning undergraduate residents move in on January 5, 2025 starting at 12:00pm.
New Residents
We’re excited to welcome you to campus! Winter move-in for new undergraduate residents begins on Jan 5, 2025 at 12pm. You may move in later in the week as well. The dining halls will be open for dinner that evening.
Please follow the following instructions to make your move-in as smooth as possible.
Before You Arrive
Move-In Day
- Navigation apps (like Waze) can assist you in navigating to Ann Arbor.
- Photo ID is required for check-in.

Mcards are needed for access to the Residence hall. If you have not yet received your Mcard, it will be available at move-in. Be sure to submit your picture.
During move-in the external doors to the hall will be open. - Check-in at your buildings Community Center to receive your key and directions to your room.
- Moving carts are available for your use.
- If you are unexpectedly delayed and arrive late, follow the posted signs.
- Street parking is available by all buildings. Please follow all parking regulations (e.g., meters, handicap parking, other signs regulating parking)
After You Move In
Be sure to complete your Room Inventory Form (RCI). If your room requires any repairs, report them using the online FIXIT form. Forms should be returned to the community center within 48 hours of your move-in. Residents are responsible for the condition of the space upon move-out so this form is an important one to complete. Returning Residents
The halls will reopen for returning residents on Monday, January 5, 2025 at 12pm. Welcome back!
You do not need to check-in at the community center. You can use your existing key to access your room on your return. Moving carts will be available for your move-in convenience.
