Bias Incident Reporting

Incidents that make people feel targeted because of their social identity group membership are known as bias incidents. University Housing takes bias incidents very seriously and is committed to supporting the targeted individual or group as well as working to help repair any harm that has been done. Rather than taking a punitive approach to addressing bias incidents in the residence halls, Housing utilizes a Restorative Justice approach. After a bias incident occurs, staff focus on rebuilding trust in the community, restoring relationships, repairing harm, and fostering healthy communication.

To maintain inclusive residential environments, it is important that bias incidents are reported. If you have witnessed or been the victim of a bias incident, please report it by emailing or complete the online form.

University Housing is a unit of Student Life, and an equal opportunity educator and employer.
