| Glossary of Transit Service Levels Transit Services provides multiple levels of service corresponding with the level of activity on Campus. As demand drops off every evening and on weekends, and diminishes over holidays and semester break, there is a corresponding step-down in service levels. Starting from the highest frequency, they are: Full Service: During Fall and Winter semesters, when classes are in session, the transit routes operate on 10 minute service intervals, with many extra buses and Expresses at high volume times. Transit Services schedules the extras at well-known high demand times, but since they are not published departures, they can be easily rescheduled if the crunch times change from one semester to the next. Published Service: Published Service is the regular 10-minute frequency on the transit routes for daytime service. “Published Service” makes up a large part of “Full Service.” Published Service would run on days when students are present on Campus but not in class, like Welcome Week and Exam days. Break Schedule: This service level is provided when classes are suspended, like Fall Break, but the University is open for business, with staff reporting for a full work day. Break Schedule consists of the Weekend Schedule serving Housing areas plus the full regular Commuter service day connecting parking lots and work sites. Weekend Schedule: On Saturdays and Sundays in Fall and Winter semesters, the “North Campus” transit route runs every 20 minutes before noon and after midnight, and every 15 minutes between noon and midnight. This schedule also is a part of the Break Schedule. Spring Break Schedule: Spring Break schedule is comprised of the a Northwood/Bursley-Baits hybrid route running at 20-minute intervals until 12:20 am, plus the full regular Commuter service day for staff, who are not on vacation for the most part. Winter Break Schedule: Winter Break Schedule is the
lowest service level provided, since residence halls are closed and the
University is not open for business. The Northwood Apartments route runs
